There’s no bad time to go for a coffee, as a West Kelowna RCMP officer found over the weekend.
On March 1 at 2:30 a.m., the officer was waiting in a drive-thru line at a local coffee shop when she discovered the vehicle in front of her had been reported stolen two days earlier in Edmonton.
Frontline officers surrounded the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody.
It turned out the man had two outstanding warrants out of Merritt for driving while prohibited, and was prohibited at the time of his arrest.
Peter Hancock, 39, is being held in custody and facing new charges of prohibited driving and possession of stolen property.
